Creative Chefs
Philip Salazar
Head Chef
I’ve worked in the foodservice industry for 18 years, starting out like so many as a teenaged kitchenhand at a local restaurant. Before joining UFS in 2015, I worked in both small and large establishments – from pubs and clubs, large catering groups, and fine dining. I’ve also consulted with many highly regarded cookbooks and have presented and judged at renowned food shows, including the acclaimed Sydney Royal Fine Foods Show.
Alex Frenold
Sous Chef
Alex Frenold was raised in Queensland and from an early age has been inquisitive about the bounty of fresh tropical fruits and seafood that are uniquely available in the state.
With an unwavering passion for fresh produce, Alex began his career in London and spent four years under the guidance of some of the most respected chefs in the United Kingdom. Upon moving back to Australia, Alex joined Circa in Brisbane before returning to his north Queensland roots at Lizard Island Resort
Moss Bramley
Pastry Chef
Moss Bramley is originally from the south coast of England, where he attended College before being trained in classical French cooking methods. In Europe, he worked at a number of boutique Michelin starred restaurants further expanding his knowledge and passion for a variety of cooking styles.

What People are Saying
“A Great Find”
“Heaps of vegan options and all deliciously fresh. My favourite is the vegan karaage chicken! The vegetables are so fresh, crunchy and green. Super quick service and prep too. Will be a regular!“
Angie Steddart

“Another successful experience”
“Just a great place. We travelled from the other side of Melbourne just to try it and totally worth it. Food is very authentic and believe me I’m Hungarian too, I grew up on this and tastes just like home. Forget your Asian or Greek/Turkish food, go Hungarian!“
Gerla Frude
“Speechless”
“Lovely modern venue with side windows that open completely onto an outdoor area adjacent a small reserve. Layout allows a wonderful Al fresco dining experience. Good food and drinks menu, at expected prices. Staff wonderfully attentive.”
